Ochre Handloom Kurta

Why I started

I fell for the sound of the loom.

Years ago, in a courtyard in Andhra, I watched a weaver throw a shuttle across the warp — that soft, rhythmic clack. It made me realise how much clothing I owned that no human hand had ever touched with care.

Loom & Ochre began as one kurta, made properly. Today every piece is still woven by the same clusters, in small batches, with dyes rooted in earth and indigo. No trend calendars. No landfill by design.

The craft

From fibre to finish, three honest steps.

01

Rooted in cluster

We work directly with weaving families across Andhra, West Bengal and Rajasthan — paying fair, buying small, and returning every season.

02

Woven by hand

Each metre passes through a wooden handloom, shuttle by shuttle. Slower, yes — but with a slub and texture no machine can fake.

03

Made to stay

Natural dyes, generous seams and timeless cuts. We'd rather you wear one piece for a decade than ten for a season.

Slow cloth, sent softly.

One thoughtful note each time a batch comes off the loom — early access, the story behind the cloth, and nothing else. That's a promise.
