Why I started Barkwell

"My rescue pup, Laddoo, deserved food I'd actually trust — not brown pellets from a mystery bag."

When our vet said 40% of the "premium" bag was just filler and binders, something snapped. I spent a year in kitchens and clinics figuring out how to make real, gently air-dried meals that lock in nutrients without the additives. Every recipe passes one test: would I be happy putting it in my own dinner?

Today Barkwell feeds thousands of city dogs whose parents read the label — because they, like me, believe a dog is family. Not a garbage disposal.

Here's the difference.

Kibble is blasted at high heat and glued together with fillers. We do the opposite — low, slow, and honest. It's the way I'd cook for Laddoo, scaled up.
